John Cena Retirement

Two Things John Cena Has Yet to Achieve in WWE Before His Retirement

John Cena is one of the most popular and greatest WWE superstars. He is also a 16-time world champion. Now, he works as a part-timer in WWE so that he can also work in Hollywood. Recently, he revealed at the WWE’s Money in the Bank 2024 event that he plans on retiring from the wrestling in 2025 which means his final in-ring competition will be in 2025 as part of a farewell tour.

From “My time is Now” to “The Last Time is Now”, he has created a huge impact in bringing WWE to such a huge level in his 20-years-long career. Even though he has already proven himself, fans still want him to achieve two more things in WWE before his retirement.

Become a Grand Slam Champion.

John Cena has won every single championship in his 20-year-long career in WWE. But he has not won the Intercontinental Championship yet. Winning this title would make him a Grand Slam
champion in WWE. He still has a chance to win the intercontinental title in 2025 before he retires.
Sami Zayn defeated the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental champion, Gunther, at WrestleMania 40 and was recently defeated by Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental champion at Summerslam 2024 premium live event. Cena can challenge him to win the championship to achieve the throne of a Grand Slam Champion.

Become a 17-time World Champion.

John Cena currently ties the record for being a 16-time world champion with Rick Flair. To break this record, he must win the undisputed WWE championship by defeating the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, and become a 17-time world champion. Another choice could be defeating Gunther for the World heavyweight championship to become a 17-time world champion.

But these titles can change hands, as there are still 5 months left until 2025, when John Cena is expected to make his final run in WWE. It would be great to see if Cena can win a championship for the last time ever in his wrestling career. He has been the face of the company for a very long time and has made significant contributions both inside and outside the ring for WWE.
